Ghassoul (pronounced "rassoul") comes from the Arabic word "ghassala", meaning " to wash".
It is a saponiferous clay rich in minerals such as magnesium, iron, sodium, zinc, phosphorus and potassium, as well as provitamins.
These minerals naturally bring radiance to dull, tired skin.
In addition to its absorbing, astringent and softening properties, Ghassoul is naturally soothing, healing, decongesting, remineralizing and stimulating. Its extreme gentleness makes it suitable for all skin types, especially acne, clogged pores and infected pimples.
Ghassoul is also ideal for gently cleansing oily hair, thanks to its purifying and sebum-regulating properties. It adds volume to fine hair. In general, it gives hair a silky, shiny appearance and makes detangling easier.

Moisten Ghassoul powder with a little mineral water, floral water, plant infusion(s) or vegetable oil. We recommend that you leave the Ghassoul paste to rest for a few hours in the open air and in the light, as this will increase its effectiveness.
To avoid altering the properties of this natural clay, avoid metal utensils during preparation, preferring earthenware, glass, porcelain and wood.
Cleansing lotion: Mix in a bottle 15 g Ghassoul + 30 ml mineral water or herbal infusion + 1 ml vegetable oil according to your skin type + 5 drops of essential oil adapted to your skin type. Leave to stand for 10 minutes. Shake and mix again. Apply to damp face, massaging gently. If necessary, leave on for a few moments. Rinse thoroughly and apply a moisturizer.
Purifying mask: Moisten approx. 1-2 spoonfuls of Ghassoul with a little mineral or spring water, apply to damp facial skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse well. Apply a moisturizer.
Cleansing and softening mask: Moisten 2 spoonfuls of Ghassoul with spring water to obtain a thick paste. Add 1 teaspoon of Apricot Kernel vegetable oil and 2-3 drops of Rosewood or Geranium essential oil previously mixed with 1-2 teaspoons of honey. Mix well. Apply to damp face and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse well.
Gentle exfoliant: In a container, mix 50 g Ghassoul + 10 ml honey + 10 ml lemon juice + a few drops Argan oil to form a creamy paste. Apply the paste to the body. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with plenty of lukewarm water.
Acne (impure skin) mask: Moisten approx. 1-2 spoonfuls of Ghassoul with a little mineral or spring water, then add 3 drops of Tea Tree or Fine Lavender essential oil. Mix well. Apply to damp facial skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse well. Apply a moisturizer.
Anti-Cellulite -cataplasm: Mix 8 tablespoons Ghassoul powder + 2 tablespoons seaweed powder + essential oils of Cypress, Fine Lavender, Lemon, 10 drops each. Prepare approx. 200 ml of strong decoction with approx. 10 climbing ivy leaves, allow to cool and pour over the mixture until a smooth paste is obtained. Massage into affected areas and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off in the shower. This treatment can be used once a week.
Oily hair - cleansing care : Prepare a decoction with 15 to 20 g of Panama wood bark in 1/2 liter of water. Filter, then add 1 tablespoon of Ghassoul. Add a few drops of Lemon essential oil. Apply to wet hair. Knead hair and massage scalp. Leave for 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Avoid contact with eyes.
Oily hair - hair mask: Moisten approx. 5 tablespoons of Ghassoul with pure water, floral water or rosemary infusion. Mix well to obtain a fluid paste. Add 1 tablespoon of yoghurt or vegetable oil of your choice, 1 egg yolk, 5-10 drops of essential oil. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse well.
Ghassoul has been used for centuries by Oriental women to gently cleanse, purify, tone and nourish their skin and hair. It is an essential part of the Hammam ritual, along with black soap and (Kessa) scrubbing glove.
